When should you book summer 2027?

Is June 2027 a good time for a family villa holiday?

June suits families looking for comfortable temperatures and a gentle start to summer. Daytime highs reach around 23 °C, evenings about 18 °C, and the sea averages roughly 22 °C, fine for families who don’t mind a fresher first swim. The bagni, Alassio’s beach clubs, are open and the town settles into its summer rhythm before the peak crowds arrive.

For young children and grandparents, the moderate warmth makes pool mornings, terrace lunches and outings along the coast comfortable. School terms may rule out June for some families, but those with preschool children or flexible schedules have the most freedom, and June weeks cost noticeably less than July and August.

Why is July the best month for sunshine and swimming?

July brings Alassio’s sunniest and driest weather, with daytime temperatures around 25 °C and the sea at about 24 °C. It is the classic seaside month: teenagers can alternate the beach with the villa pool, and evenings are for eating outside and walking through town. The summer atmosphere is in full swing, without the particular intensity of Ferragosto.

Warm evenings make cooking and dining outdoors a pleasure. The villa’s 47 m² living and dining area opens onto the terraces, the 19 m² kitchen has a central island and NEFF appliances, and the outdoor table seats eight. July is high season, though: families looking for quieter surroundings may prefer June or September.

What makes August 2027 different, especially around Ferragosto?

August combines the warmest sea of the year, about 24 °C, with the liveliest weeks of the Italian summer. Ferragosto, the Feast of the Assumption, falls on Sunday 15 August 2027. Italians travel from the cities to the coast and the mountains, and Alassio celebrates with fireworks set to music from the Pontile Bestoso, the busiest evening passeggiata of the year, and full restaurants and gelaterie.

Because you can arrive on any day, you choose how Ferragosto fits your stay. Leave by 14 August and you miss the busiest days; arrive by 15 August and you are in Alassio for the fireworks. From 21 August the town grows calmer, the sea is still warm, and the weekly rate drops.

Families who love lively celebrations will remember Ferragosto. Those who prefer quieter beaches and streets can choose another period, and a private pool and terraces give you a peaceful retreat whenever the town is busy.

Is early September still warm enough for a seaside holiday?

Yes. In September the sea averages 22–24 °C, warmest at the start of the month, with daytime temperatures of 23–25 °C and cooler evenings. After Ferragosto Italian families return home and the coast becomes noticeably calmer: terrace breakfasts, a swim and long lunches set the pace, and the hill villages and neighbouring towns are pleasant to explore.

September is less reliably dry than July, with roughly eight rainy days and seven to eight hours of sunshine a day, so some variety in the weather is worth expecting. For couples, families with preschool children and multi-generational groups with flexible dates, it is often the best value of the summer.

Which weeks suit which family?

Coordinating calendars is the real puzzle: school holidays differ between countries, adult children need to arrange leave, and grandparents may prefer cooler, quieter weeks.
